NAS Insepction
The school was visited by Jonny Knowles from The National Autistic Society. We had a three day inspection to gain our accreditation from the NAS. The inspection looks at how we cater for the needs of our children who have a diagnosis of Autism.
It was a great success and we had some very positive feedback. They commented on how happy the children are and how calm and inviting the school environment is.The NAS commented upon our recent developments in the area of Forest Schools and how this is a great asset to the school. We also impressed them with how we promote effective communication with the children and how our curriculum is planned to develop the key skills and independence that we feel is so important.
Our methods in teaching the children using the different areas of our classrooms and using different teaching strategies such as Attention Autism, has made a positive impact on our children’s learning. It has reflected the hard work and dedication of our staff.
The full report will arrive in school over the next few weeks.
